Zefzafi has been in custody since Monday after he interrupted animam's last Friday sermon in a mosque in Al-Hoceima, calling formore demonstrations.
Later on the day, the Public Prosecutor of the city Court ofAppeal ordered "the opening of an investigation and the arrest ofNasser Zefzafi" for "forming a group of people to obstructworshippers" and "undermining the security of the state."

Hundreds of protestors have also taken to the streets in severalcities in support of the arrested, including the key cities ofRabat, Casablanca and Tangier.
