JAKARTA Cheap Nike Epic React Grey , Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian parliament voted to abolish direct elections for regional leaders on Friday showing fierce competition between camps of president-elect Joko Widodo and his arch-rival, the defeated president candidate Prabowo Subianto.


"The parliament's general assembly decides that regional election should be held through regional parliaments," Priyo Budi Santoso, a legislator from Golkar party which led the assembly said on early Friday morning in the parliament building.


The camp of president-elect Joko Widodo who supported direct regional election won 135 of the 361 votes cast, far lower than 256 votes gathered by Prabowo's camp that supports indirect election through mechanism in regional parliament.


The ruling Democrat Party Cheap Nike Epic React Blue , the biggest party in the parliament, walked out in the voting process after its requests were not included in the draft. The party, which is now chaired by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, supports direct election but with ten-point of corrections.


Joko Widodo who will replace President Yudhoyono on Oct. 20 expressed his disappointment on the passing of the law, saying that it has hurt people's trust in democracy.


"People have witnessed it (the parliament's assembly) directly. The decision has taken away people's political rights Cheap Nike Epic React Pink ," Joko said. Joko was nominated by the opposition party, Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).


Reports said that President Yudhoyono was unhappy with the walk out decision demonstrated by his legislators in the parliament. Democrat Party senior executive Amir Syamsuddin said that the president has issued order to hold internal investigation to dismantle the mastermind of the walk out act in the assembly.


"The party's honorary council has been asked to slap maximum sanction against the mastermind. We are ready to carry out the order," Amir said.


Yudhoyono, a staunch democracy promoter, has said earlier that Democrat Party would act as the balancer amid harsh rivalry between Joko Widodo and Prabowo Subianto camps in the coming years.
