He essentially takes the roster spot of offensive tackle Desmond Harrison, who was released on Wednesday. Armstrong in an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Michigan, where he made 12 starts out of 43 career games, including nine at left guard in 2016. According to the Browns website, Armstrong “aided” an Eastern Michigan’s offensive line in 2017 that set a school record with 5,917 yards of offense and allowed the second-fewest tackles for loss in the FBS. (The quarterback that year for the Eagles? None other than Brogan Roback, who had a starring role during training camp in 2018 when the Browns were featured on the HBO series Hard Knocks.)
