The NFL Draft looms Mike Remmers Jersey , not-so-far off enjoyable and relaxing weekend. I had a good weekend, it was our first taste of non-arctic temperatures in what seems like forever, so we were outside quite a bit. Kiddo wanted to have a campfire, and although it wasn’t typical campfire weather, it sounded like a great idea. So, I dug through the snowdrift and found our firepit, dug it out (out of the four-foot snowdrift, I was able to carve out a pretty cool sectional-type seat around the pit, I’ll have to post pictures in the comments unless I manage to find my phone before I post this). So, we had a campfire Saturday and Sunday, with s’mores, of course. I also made a prime rib on the smoker yesterday, it was as amazing as it always is. Yum yum.Around the DN since our last open thread:Saxyprince was featured on the North Star Podcast.Chris churned out version 3.0 of the 2019 Minnesota Vikings Mock Draft Database.Chris put to rest the rumor that had the Vikings trading Diggs to Washington. He also shared some rumors about the O-line, Easton was to decide Monday (but pulled the trigger a day early), and the Vikings are to speak with Josh Kline (no relation to Calvin, I’m told). As I mentioned above, Nick Easton is to sign with the Saints, per Chris.Keep up on all the latest moves on the MN Vikings Free Agency Tracker.Vikings news from other sources and news from around the rest of the NFL:ESPN has a league-wide free-agency tracker to keep you up-to-speed.From the Sporting News, Russell Wilson sees ‘great potential’ that he could become the NFL’s highest paid player. He said this on the Jimmy Falcon show (a talk show of some sort, I’m told), I’m guessing there’s great potential that the Seahawks GM needed some Pepto if he was listening to the show at the time. Also from the Sporting News, here is what to know about Johnny Manziel’s AAF contract with the Memphis Express. We come to today’s media selection. That last story gave me the idea for today’s selection. For my generation, there were a lot of great comedians, and Eddie Murphy was one of the best. This is his bit on the ice cream man. Belly up and tie one on. Don’t forget to tip your waitress, and try the panic and hysteria. With the 2018 regular season officially in the books for the National Football League, the All-Pro Teams for this year have been announced, and in yet another disappointment, only two members of the Minnesota Vikings were named to the squads, both to the Second Team.Defensive end Danielle Hunter and safety Harrison Smith were both named as Second-Team All-Pros on Friday, as voted on by 50 members of the Associated Press.Smith was a First-Team All-Pro last season, and while he didn’t have as strong a year in 2018 as he did in 2017, he still showed that he’s on the short list of the best safeties in the National Football League. Hunter finished the season tied for fourth in the National Football League in sacks with 14.5, and this is the first time he’s been named to any sort of All-Pro team. Given that he’s just turned 24 years old and is under contract for the foreseeable future, I’m guessing there are going to be multiple All-Pro teams in his future.I’m not sure how many other Vikings you could have made a case for this season. Adam Thielen certainly appeared as though he was on track to be named an All-Pro this year, but dropped off pretty dramatically in the second half of the season. Other than that, I can’t think of anyone you could really argue strongly on behalf of.Congratulations to both Danielle Hunter and Harrison Smith on making Second-Team All-Pro this season.
